Arduino Uno R3 Development Board (ATmega328P)

  • Microcontroller: ATmega328P-based development board.
  • Naming: "Uno" means "one" in Italian, marking the release of Arduino 1.0.
  • Input/Output:
    • 14 digital I/O pins (6 capable of PWM output).
    • 6 analog input pins.
  • Clock & Memory:
    • 16 MHz ceramic resonator.
    • 32 KB Flash memory (0.5 KB used by bootloader).
    • 2 KB SRAM, 1 KB EEPROM.
  • Power Options:
    • Can be powered via USB or external supply (6-20V).
    • Recommended supply voltage: 7-12V.
    • Power source selection is automatic.
  • Unique Feature: Unlike previous boards, the Uno R3 uses the Atmega16U2 (Atmega8U2 in earlier versions) as a USB-to-serial converter, instead of the FTDI chip.
  • External Power Details:
    • AC-to-DC adapter (2.1mm center-positive plug) or battery.
    • Gnd and Vin pin headers for battery connection.
    • Voltage regulator considerations: less than 7V may cause instability; more than 12V may overheat and damage the board.
  • Electrical Specifications:
    • Operating Voltage: 5V.
    • Maximum Supply Voltage: 20V (not recommended).
    • DC Current per I/O Pin: 40 mA.
    • DC Current for 3.3V Pin: 50 mA.
  • Clock Speed: 16 MHz.
